For those of you short of time who want a quick stroll along the River Ribble - this is for you!

Starting at The Shireburn Arms car park walk down the fields (behind the hotel) towards the River. Within 10 minutes you'll feach the river bed and from there it's a pleasant stroll along the River Ribble, past the Aquifer Bridge until you reach a tarmac road (approximtaely half an hour after you started). From here you can either turn LEFT and walk up through Foxfields Farm and then walk back to Hurst along the main road ... OR ... go back the way you came avoiding the main road (recommended if you have pets or children with you).
